Job Summary:
Restaurant cashier’s main duties and responsibilities is to assist customers in the in-store checkout process which includes greeting customers as they enter the restaurant, ringing up orders on point of sale (POS) system, collecting payment, and giving appropriate change.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer customer questions.
- Greet customers
- Process sales transactions on POS system
- Collect payment whether in cash or credit
- Calculate and return change when required by the payment method
- Maintain adequate change denominations in the cash drawer and request additional change
- Reconcile cash drawers and sales receipts at end of shift
- Report issues and customer complaints to managers
- Maintain clean and tidy work area
- Restock beverage and dessert coolers
- Assist other restaurant staff as needed.
