GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION
The Program Director will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the site, including the Maintenance, Security, and most importantly Social Services Departments.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
- Serve as a liaison for the New York City Department of Homeless Services.
- Managing daily operations
- On call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Strategically map out a program / schedule and timeline and ensure it is followed
- Set goals for each department and track progress, set-backs, and overall performance
- Devise evaluation strategies to monitor performance and determine the need for improvements
- Supervise all Directors and Supervisors involved to provide feedback and resolve any issues
- Discover ways to enhance efficiency and productivity of procedures and people
- Apply change, risk and resources when needed
- Read reports by Directors to determine progress and issues
- Oversee all social service delivery activities
- Set target goals for staff
- Participate in the development plan for each client or family
- Relate to government officials and inspectors
- Administration of financial and accounting activities
- Will work in DHS CARES system actively and be able to train staff on similar work
- Responsible for ensuring the treatment and cases of clients are handled with extreme care and with the appropriate level of professionalism
- Will actively engage staff in training and accountability
- Will provide constant oversight, ensuring all staff members are adhering to and following company set forth policies as well as those set by the City and State
- Responsible for the overall appearance of facility and its maintenance
- In the event of an emergency, Essential Employees are required to report to work as scheduled
- Duties and responsibilities are subject to change based upon assessment of company needs SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Extensive Social Services background working with the homeless population, specifically families with children
- At least 5 years in a Social Services setting
- Experience previously program directing or coordinating
- Experience with DHS CARES system
- Must be motivated, energetic, punctual, responsible, and exhibit a positive attitude to be an excellent role model for clients and staff members
- Must be an assertive and confident individual with the ability to lead
- Must be a confident and efficient speaker and writer
- Required to hold a Bachelor's Degree in the Social Services field
- Master's Degree is preferred.
- Bilingual – English/Spanish a plus
