Job Description:
Under supervision of the General Manager and Operations Team, a Restaurant Manager ensures the daily operations of the restaurant run smoothly and efficiently. Oversee responsibilities including ordering goods, equipment, utensils, and equipment based on needs of the restaurant. Also managing relationships and supervising restaurant staff performance. Ultimately, Restaurant Managers help minimize operating costs, boost employee retention, and deliver a positive experience for customers. Restaurant Managers role is consistent and constant regardless of the presence of General Manager or a member of the Operations Team.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Calculate future needs in restaurant and place orders as needed.
- Facilitate smooth service in all departments by overseeing bar, floor, support, and host teams
- Cash handling and business management in line with company standards and practices
- Coordinate communication between FOH and BOH both prior to shift to run engaging and informative pre-shift meetings and during to facilitate positive guest experience and efficient service
- Prepare shift schedules for FOH
- Hire and Terminate staff as needed, providing input to progressive discipline, training, and recruiting efforts spearheaded by others
- Supervise FOH staff and provide assistance and support from a corrective coaching perspective
- Keep detailed records and items to include in daily manager’s log.
- Arrange for new employees’ proper onboarding (scheduling trainings and uniforms).
- Monitor compliance with safety and hygiene regulations.
- Handle guest issues in the moment as they come up as a representative of the company’s standards, practices, and values
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High school diploma; additional certification in Hospitality or Restaurant Management is a plus.
- 3 – 5 years’ experience as Assistant/Restaurant Manager or similar experience in lead hourly positions.
- Familiarity with restaurant management software (7Shifts, Toast, Restaurant365, etc).
- Strong math and reporting skills.
- Customer service attitude.
- Communication and team management abilities.
- Availability to work within open hours (e.g. evenings, holidays, weekends).
Physicality Requirements:
- 100% -- Verbally communicates with customers, employees, venders.
- 90% -- Stands during entire shift.
- 75% -- Reaches, bends and stoops frequently.
- 20% -- Carries 35 lbs. Equipment or heavy trays about ten times per shift. over medium distances (20-30 feet).
