Homeland Safety Systems, Inc., is a rapidly expanding and ever-changing company with a core focus in industrial and commercial security consulting, design, engineering, and installation of access control, CCTV, and communication equipment for high end, complex electronic security systems. We currently serve customers throughout Louisiana, Texas, Arkansas, & Mississippi.
We are looking for an organized and motivated Warehouse Assistant who will be responsible for ensuring inventory is processed, organized, and stored properly. The warehouse assistant will also package, scan, and prepare orders for delivery. The ideal candidate is comfortable working on their feet, focused on meeting deadlines, and experienced in inventory software and databases. The Warehouse Assistant will operate machinery including, but not limited to, forklifts and man-lifts. Experience operating this type of machinery is preferred.
This position is located in our Shreveport, Louisiana office.
In this role you will…
- Assist Warehouse Manager with day-to-day tasks and any necessary paperwork
- Inform Warehouse Manager and Director of Operations of any inventory or materials needed for projects or to meet par levels
- Maintain documentation of all orders, shipments, returns, movements, etc.
- Receive, document, and test defective equipment
- Utilize MKS and Inflow Inventory Software for receipts and movement of equipment materials
- Ensure inventory accuracy through the completion of effective inventory control techniques such as cycle counts
- Report damaged or missing inventory to Warehouse Manager
- Input and verify purchase orders for accuracy
- Prepare and ship inventory as needed
- Monitor project schedules and service reports to pull and assign all equipment needed
- Receive, check, and document incoming freight and stock/re-stock shelves with parts from received shipments in the correct inventory locations
- Ability to assemble and reassemble computer hardware
- Manage and maintain physical inventory organization
- Responsible for general cleaning and upkeep of Warehouse
- Perform other related tasks as needed

- Ability to pass a state and federal background check to obtain industry licenses and security clearance
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug screens (Required by State Law)
- Previous Warehouse/ Inventory experience preferred
- Current driver's license and clean driving record (MVR)
- Possess or be able to obtain proper state licensing once hired
- Strong organizational skills that reflect ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks with attention to detail
- Possess a dedication to working in a fast-paced environment
- Possess excellent time management, planning, and forward-thinking skills
- Possess excellent telephone etiquette, communication, and listening skills
- Possess the ability to self-motivate and work with little supervision
- Operate any hand tools and equipment necessary to perform all associated tasks
- Maintain a professional demeanor with customers and employees
- Must be able to operate and work on lifts as needed
- Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds
