Position Overview
Are you ready to take on a ground-floor opportunity and work directly with our Owners to build a thriving market? As a Business Development Specialist, you'll be responsible for cultivating partnerships with key realtors and real estate brokerages. This is your chance to make an immediate impact on our emerging business in the home preparation space.
What You'll Do
- Develop relationships with real estate agents and work closely with clients to conduct consultations and provide expert advice on making homes market-ready.
- Network within the community to raise awareness of HOMEstretch and our services.
- Secure office presentations with real estate agents and referral partners.
- Drive sales and business development efforts by introducing our services to Northwest Indiana-area real estate agents.
- Partner with our Owners to build and shape the market - this is a ground-up position with a direct impact on our success.
- Conduct client consultations at their homes, discussing their needs and how HOMEstretch services can enhance their property.
- Assist in crafting service quotes and follow-up with clients to finalize deals.
What We're Looking For
- Proven track record in sales or customer service roles.
- A people person who excels genuinely enjoys building relationships and connecting with others over the phone and in person.
- Punctuality is a must - we pride ourselves on being on time for every client meeting.
- A person with a bias for action - when an opportunity pops up we jump on it and get moving right away.
- Excellent communication skills, with a rapid response to client inquiries via phone, text, or email.
- Knowledge or eagerness to learn about home preparation services, including the latest design trends, painting recommendations, flooring options, and cosmetic improvements.
- Real estate field experience is a plus.
- Enjoy solving problems and working closely with clients to meet their needs.
- Comfortable in a start-up environment where agility and initiative are valued.
- Highly motivated and proactive, always seeking solutions to challenges.
What Your First Few Months Look Like:
Month 1: Learn the HOMEstretch model by shadowing consultations, understanding our service mix, and working towards 10 positive conversations per day with key real estate partners alongside the Owners.
Month 2: Begin leading consults with homeowners and realtors, draft service quotes, and manage early-stage follow-up with clients (with coaching and review).
Month 3: Take ownership of the sales process from consult through close, while consistently generating new leads and relationship opportunities.
Throughout: Collaborate weekly with the Owners to refine messaging, outreach, and conversion strategies.
Goal by Day 90: Build a reliable referral pipeline, quote independently with oversight, and close your first 3–5 projects that deliver revenue and value.
