This position is responsible for overseeing the full revenue cycle—from charge capture to collections—ensuring financial accuracy, operational efficiency, and an outstanding experience for our patients and clinical teams.
The ideal candidate has deep experience in pediatric billing, strong leadership capability, and expertise using AthenaOne. This role will play a critical part in strengthening the financial health of our practice and supporting the delivery of exceptional pediatric care.
About The Role
The RCM Manager will oversee all billing team members and processes, ensuring consistent, compliant, and high-quality work across sites.
Responsibilities Include
Lead, mentor, and support a team of billers and billing support staff.
Establish clear workflows, productivity expectations, and QA standards.
Provide training on Athena workflows, pediatric coding, and payer requirements.
Serve as the primary escalation point for complex claims, denials, and billing issues.

Ensure accurate and timely claim submission across commercial, Medicaid, and CHIP plans.
Monitor A/R aging and lead strategies to reduce outstanding receivables.
Oversee denial management and appeals; analyze trends to prevent future issues.
Ensure compliant coding review processes (CPT, ICD-10, HCPCS) and documentation accuracy.
Work with clinical leadership to improve charge capture and coding compliance.
Operational Excellence
Develop and implement standard operating procedures for billing across all locations.
Maintain a high level of organization and documentation, consistent with expectations for billing staff

Collaborate with office managers, clinical teams, and administrative leadership to resolve issues and streamline revenue cycle workflows.
Oversee patient statement processes, payment plans, and customer service protocols for billing inquiries.
Track KPIs like revenue per encounter, days sales outstanding, and ensure late claims get paid
Support onboarding of new physicians or locations by ensuring smooth RCM integration.
Qualifications
5–7 years of medical billing or revenue cycle experience, including pediatric experience preferred.
2 years in a supervisory or management role within healthcare.
Athena EHR/Billing proficiency required (consistent with expectations for billing staff)
Deep knowledge of RCM operations: A/R workflows, denial management, coding, payer rules, and compliance.
Strong understanding of Medicaid/CHIP programs and commercial payers.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
Billing/coding certifications (CPB, CPC, CRCR) strongly preferred.
