Health Physics Technician
As a Health Physics Technician here at Honeywell, (internally titled Lead HSE Technician) you will contribute to the success of health physics and employees’ safety initiatives.
You will report directly to our HSE Manager, and you will work out of our Metropolis, IL location. Your responsibilities will encompass a range of activities both indoors and outdoors on a compressed 12-hour rotational schedule alternating weekly between days and nights.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure compliance with Health Physics and site-specific standard operating procedures.
- Conduct radiological release surveys of employees, shipments, vehicles, tools, and equipment leaving restricted areas.
- Collect, analyze, and report data related to surface contamination, airborne radioactivity, and plant effluent streams.
- Perform quality assurance and calibration of analytical equipment.
- Conduct industrial hygiene sampling for hot work and confined space entry.
- Provide radiological coverage during emergency response scenarios.
- Administer first aid and CPR as needed.
- Support routine inspections by the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (USNRC).

The hourly salary range for this position is $34 to $36. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
