Immediate openings for rock star art teachers!
This is an IN-PERSON position (must be available to work in a classroom that is set up for social distancing with students in-person. We currently do not have any positions for remote teaching available)
Responsibilities:
- Manage and educate students in a classroom setting
- Adhere to established teaching curriculum
- Maintain positive relationships with students and coworkers
- Document and share student progress and evaluations
- Maintain the health and safety of all students
We're a new kind of art school for children ages 4-17 in Cupertino, CA. We have developed our own unique style of teaching art and engaging students that focuses on developing their artistic, social, and creative skills. We introduce them to various types of projects from traditional to new media.
Requirements:
- Must be able to work Friday afternoon (until 8pm), Saturday, and/or Sunday on a regular basis
- College student or graduate in art-related major
- Strong traditional media art skills (especially in drawing and painting) - we're also hiring for digital art teachers!
- Must be able to commit to a regular schedule of at least one shift each week for a minimum of two semesters.
- Physical requirements include being able to be on your feet for 2-3 hours at a time
- Reliability and proactiveness is a MUST
- Laid-back, fun, playful, and outgoing personality! You need to be friendly, but firm in a playful way with students.
- Strong classroom management skills a plus
- Ability to build rapport with students
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong leadership qualities
