What are the responsibilities and job description for the Truss Builder position at Honsador Lumber?
Oahu Truss is seeking a self-starter, highly motivated individual to work as a builder. Must be detail oriented and have the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with basic carpentry skills. As a truss builder you will use wood to design and build trusses that meet the need of the project.
Highlights of Qualifications:
- Substantial experience of creation of trusses, wall sections and related wooden supports used in building construction
- Profound knowledge of different types of trusses and truss building methods
- Extensive knowledge of basic building concepts, construction management principles and basic math calculations
- Ability to operate hand tools, power equipment’s and measurement devices
- Ability to perform work in varied weather conditions, in a timely manner
Responsibilities:
- Comprehend and follow production layouts, work orders and technical specifications.
- Select, align, assemble and join precut parts to build trusses and similar supports.
- Check actual dimensions of precut parts and accuracy of assembly of final product.
- Operate a variety of equipment’s like overhead crane, hoist, hydraulic boom, hammer and screwdriver.
- Maintain adherence to technical specifications, quality standards and safety practices.
