Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Lasik Surgery Assistant to join our dynamic Lasik team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patient care, with experience in ophthalmology (preferred) and familiarity with Lasik procedures. This role involves working closely with physicians to provide high-quality Lasik services.
Duties
- Assist ophthalmologists and surgical staff during LASIK and other refractive procedures
- Prepare surgical instruments, equipment, and the procedure room before surgery
- Monitor and maintain sterile field and surgical environment
- Support pre-operative patient care including testing
- Provide clear pre- and post-op instructions to patients
- Document patient information and maintain accurate records in EHR systems
- Ensure patient comfort and safety throughout the procedure
- Maintain and restock supplies and surgical instruments as needed
- Uphold HIPAA and infection control standards at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience in patient care, preferably within an ophthalmology or surgical setting
- Familiarity with EMR systems is highly desirable.
- Previous experience in a medical office environment is preferred, including knowledge of Lasik procedures
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to educate patients clearly and compassionately.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
