Parts Driver Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain communication with parts manager, wholesale representative, inventory control administrator, parts counterperson, and shipping/receiving clerk to coordinate all pick-ups and deliveries (planned and last minute)
- Verify invoice against purchase order for each pick-up
- Maintain accurate log of daily deliveries and pick-ups, and obtain recipient's signature for each delivery entry
- Unload truck each night
- Submit all paperwork for undelivered parts
- Basic maintenance of truck, including gassing, checking oil, keeping it clean and ensuring required inspections are performed
- Advise parts manager of necessary major truck repairs or maintenance
- Help maintain the professional appearance of the parts department
- Assist service department as needed with attendant responsibilities of managing drop-off and pick-up of customer's vehicles
- Assist with stocking and posting orders upon arrival to expedite delivery to shop technicians and wholesale accounts
Parts Driver Qualifications: Successful candidates will be or possess:
- 6 months' related experience (i.e.: truck/auto parts delivery)
- Able to lift 75 pounds
- Clean, valid driver's license (no major/minor violations/at-fault accidents in last 5 years)
- For insurance purposes, drivers must be at least 25 years of age
- Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
- Excellent and efficient customer service skills
- Willingness and ability to make deliveries throughout the areas serviced
