Foster Care, Resource Development Specialist
The Therapeutic Foster Care Program (TFC) at Hope For Youth has a full time Resource Development Specialist position available. The foster care program has contracts with Nassau and Suffolk Departments of Social Services and Probation. The program serves youth from newborn up through the age of 21 in foster homes located in the Suffolk and Nassau area.
To be a successful Foster Care, Resource Development Specialist in the Hope For Youth Therapeutic Foster Care Program you must be able and willing to do the following always:
Job Duties
- Function within the policies and procedures as outlined in the employee manual and program guide
- Recruitment of new foster families using community outreach, social media, & in person events
- Training, certification, and re-certification of foster families
- Retention of current families
- Collaboration with the Foster Care Staff/Intake Coordinator
- Collaboration with Suffolk and Nassau County Departments of Social Services and Probation.
- Maintain statistics/data related to the foster parent recruitment and training process using the Binti, Connections and 10e11 systems, as well as other means directed by HFY
- Plan & facilitate foster parent orientations
- Maintain paper and electronic foster parent files
- Attend bi-weekly staff meetings
- Assist in the development and implementation of the Foster Parent Recruitment and Retention Plan
- Other duties as assigned
Required Education and Work Experience
- BA or higher degree.
- Experience in the child welfare field a must.
- Foster and adoptive home development is preferred.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Strong computer skills are essential.
- Certification in National Training & Development Curriculum (NTDC) is preferred.
- Familiarity with the Connections-FAD module.
This opportunity is being offered at a pay range of $24.72 - $27.47/hour, based on a 35 hours per week Monday - Saturday
