What are the responsibilities and job description for the WIC Certifying Health Professional - Registered Dietitian, Nutritionist position at Hopewell Health Centers, Inc.?
Hopewell Health Centers is a nationally accredited federally qualified health and community mental health center with 23 sites across TEN counties throughout Southeastern Ohio (Athens, Franklin, Gallia, Hocking, Jackson, Meigs, Perry, Ross, Vinton, and Washington). We are currently seeking a Registered Dietitian, Nutritionist (Certifying Health Professional) to work with our New Lexington, OH WIC team.
Registered dietitians are experts in food and nutrition. As a Certifying Health Professional you will provide assessment and counseling to WIC participants in the areas of nutrition and diet, as well as certifying and recertifying potential and actual WIC participants. Other roles included, but to a lesser degree, is appointment scheduling, actual food benefit issuance, and follow up appointments with high risk participants.

What do we require from our Registered Dietitian, Certifying Health Professional?
- Eligible to work in the United States
- Registered, Licensed Dietitian; Registered Nurse (RN), Dietetic Technician, Dietetic Technician Registered in the State of Ohio or four year nutrition/dietetics graduation (Nutrition Associate).
- Experience in nutrition education including breastfeeding.
- Ability to work independently and align work with team & relate to variety of professionals, parents and/or young children
- Awareness of and sensitivity to the cultural diversity of the population served, implicit bias, and its impact on care
- Commitment to the promotion of social justice and ability to promote diversity equity and inclusion within programs
