Our client, Continental Properties, is building in Deerfield, IL. As a premier General Contractor for our client, since 2010, together we have developed and built over 20 high-end multi-family projects. The project scope is a $40M with a 18-month schedule (started October). The project is ground-up, wood-frame including 10 acres of site development with 9 3-story walk-ups for 286 units in total. Project includes: club house, swimming pool, ancillary buildings and dog park. We do not self-perform.
We are adding to the 2nd FIELD SUPERINTENDENT to work with our onsite Lead. We've been working in the IL and IN market for over a decade and we are committed to continue as in 2024 we opened an IN office as well. Let's have a conversation and see where it goes.
Requirements
General Job Duties:
- Assisting the Lead Superintendent: Support the lead superintendent in overseeing daily construction activities and ensuring the project stays on schedule.
- Site Supervision: Monitor and manage on-site construction activities, ensuring compliance with safety protocols and construction standards.
- Coordination: Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and completion of tasks.
- Quality Control: Inspect work to ensure it meets the project's specifications and quality standards.
- Problem-Solving: Address any issues or delays that arise on-site, finding effective solutions to keep the project on track.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, progress reports, and any incidents that occur on-site.
- Communication: Facilitate clear communication between the project team, subcontractors, and clients to ensure everyone is informed and aligned.
- Safety Management: Enforce safety regulations and conduct regular safety meetings to ensure a safe working environment.
- Scheduling: Assist in creating and updating project schedules, ensuring all phases of construction are completed on time.
- Training: Help train and mentor junior staff and new team members on best practices and safety procedures.
Job Qualifications.
- A minimum of ten years’ experience in construction, including large-scale multi-family residential and/or commercial construction, is required for this position.
- Required to have or get upon employment OSHA30 and First Aid/CPR certification
- Familiarity with all facets of construction, including earthwork, drainage, framing, finishes and all mechanicals is a must.
- A high degree of construction field expertise will be required.
- Ability to supervise, teach and motivate staff; willingness to perform any task that is required and possess good safety habits.
- The person in this position must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, verbally and in writing, with other members of the construction department and with third-party contractors and tradesman, as well as with company owners and managers, and all other office team members.
- Strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple projects and meet critical time deadlines are crucial to this position.
