Job Summary: The Part-Time Clinical Lab Scientist will play a critical role in conducting laboratory tests, collecting samples, and ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our diagnostic processes.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
- None.
- Collect, prepare, and label patient samples, specimens, and cultures in accordance with established protocols
- Perform a wide range of clinical laboratory tests, including blood tests, urine analysis, microbiology, and other diagnostic procedures
- Operate and maintain laboratory equipment, including microscopes, cell counters, and analyzers, ensuring they are in proper working order
- Maintain and monitor quality control systems to ensure the accuracy and reliability of test results
- Accurately record and report test results, including abnormal findings, to healthcare providers and maintain precise laboratory records
- Adhere to safety and infection control policies, laboratory regulations, and industry best practices
- Identify and address technical issues and irregularities in test results, and troubleshoot equipment problems as needed
- Monitor and replenish laboratory supplies and reagents to ensure continuous testing capabilities
- Participate in research projects and contribute to the development of new testing methods or procedures
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, physicians, and nurses to provide accurate and timely information regarding test results
- Trains new phlebotomist, technicians, and technologists in conjunction with the Laboratory Supervisor
- Performs other related duties as assigned
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or a related field
- Certification as Medical Laboratory Technologist (MT) or Clinical Laboratory Scientist, preferred
- Minimum of 1 year laboratory experience
- Physical, sensory, and cognitive abilities sufficient to perform essential functions
- Good interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, techniques, and equipment
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and adaptability to changing conditions
- Knowledge of safety and infection control procedures
- Effective communication and teamwork skills
