The Volunteer Manager supervises the day-to-day efforts of volunteers as well as plays a key role in the development of new initiatives and value-add services to the organization’s people pillar.

Volunteer Manager Position Duties & Responsibilities:
- Builds strong relationships with volunteers providing effective leadership, ongoing coaching, and mentoring for volunteers in support of their service to patients and families.
- Works collaboratively and collectively with Hosparus Health departments and clinical teams to support the organization’s mission through the work of volunteer services.
- Develops and implements effective strategies to recruit and engage volunteers based on the needs of the organization and the volunteer’s strengths and preferences.
- Responsible for being familiar with Hosparus Health Policies and Procedures and practicing according to these standards and guidelines.
- Effectively recognizes volunteers for their unique contributions.
- Trains and onboards volunteers, performing necessary screening, interviews, and orientation.
- Assists with volunteer relations and manages conflict and/or performance issues as needed. Demonstrates respectful and effective communication and conflict resolution.
- Conducts and monitors ongoing and annual review processes and volunteer competencies, providing both positive and constructive feedback.
- Maintains statistical information for volunteer services and provides an annual strategic plan in support of organizational and volunteer services goals.
- Holds a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 3-5 years experience with Volunteer Administration or closely related experience.
- Knowledge of current trends, resources and information related to volunteerism preferred.
- Human Resources, Recruiting or outreach experience a plus.
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a larger staff team.
- Must be able to develop and facilitate large group meetings and training.
