Full Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and motivated individual to join our practice as an Intake Coordinator. As part of our care team, you are the first point of contact for most new patients, gathering vital information and coordinating their entry into our care system. You accurately document the patients' medical history, current needs, relevant insurance information, and emergency contact information before placing them in our scheduling system and directing them to the appropriate provider. The Intake Coordinator is knowledgeable in scheduling, administrative procedures, and proficient with Microsoft word and excel. You must have strong communication skills, excellent data entry skills, and knowledge of common medical terminology. The Intake Coordinator is a member of a cooperative nursing team providing care that respects the dignity of all patients and serves their needs with competence and compassion.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet visitors and new patients
- Conduct initial intake referrals
- Gather relevant medical history
- Input insurance information/verification
- Direct clients to appropriate care providers
- Assist with scheduling
- Document information accurately and protect patient privacy according to HIPAA guidelines
- Assist with billing and pre-authorization process
- Comply with CareBridge written policies and procedures including privacy, confidentiality, and HIPAA.
Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Associate Degree (preferred)
- Experience with health insurance (preferred)
- Hospice, Home Health, or Community Development Care (preferred)
- Excellent communications skills
- Willingness to learn and adapt
- Computer and data entry skills
- Experience with medical databases/EMR
- Excellent phone and email etiquette
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
