What are the responsibilities and job description for the Delivery Driver - Bay View Inn position at Hotel Investment Services?
Our Delivery Drivers are a vital part of our operation as they deliver items such as laundry, fresh baked goods and supplies daily to all of our hotels and restaurants. Based at the Bay View Inn in Petoskey, the delivery route includes stops in Charlevoix, Petoskey, Harbor Springs and Alanson.
Basic Responsibilities
Follow all traffic laws, DOT regulations and best practices for safety when delivering items
Communicate with management and other team members to make accurate, timely deliveries
Meet delivery deadlines and following assigned delivery routes
Perform basic truck maintenance, such as refueling, doing visual inspections and reporting potential issues
Prepare, load and unload the delivery vehicle
Provide exceptional customer service and obtaining client or customer signatures when needed
Complete any paperwork related to the deliveries and completing reports as required
Use additional equipment, such as lifts, hand trucks and dollies, as needed
Requirements
A valid commercial drivers license (Chauffeurs license or better)
Knowledge of how to handle materials safely, such as food or chemicals
Familiarity with using navigation systems
Time management to ensure deliveries are made on schedule
Excellent vision and hand-eye coordination to stay safe while driving
Ability to load and unload heavy cargo and use any machinery or equipment necessary to help
Strong customer service and communication skills
A clean driving record and safe driving skills
