About the Role
The Housatonic Community College Foundation is seeking a highly organized and motivated Donor Stewardship & Events Assistant to support our fundraising and donor engagement efforts. This is a part-time, on-site position ideal for early-career professionals interested in nonprofit development, fundraising, or event planning.
You will assist with donor communications, data entry, event logistics, and stewardship activities that directly impact students and the local community. Join a mission-driven team that helps change lives through access to education.
Key Responsibilities
🗂️ Donor Records & Gift Processing
- Enter donations into our donor database (Raiser’s Edge – training provided)
- Maintain accurate digital records of contributions and correspondence
- Assist with gift acknowledgment letters and reporting
đź’Ś Donor Communications
- Make thank you telephone calls
- Support print and email mailings
- Help maintain accurate donor contact lists
🎉 Event Coordination
- Support the planning and execution of donor fundraisers, including Alumni Association events and recognition breakfasts
- Help coordinate logistics such as materials, food orders, room setup, and student volunteers
- Track event attendance and assist with follow-up outreach
đź“‹ General Administrative Support
- Take notes at quarterly Foundation Board meetings
- Assist with meeting scheduling and internal communications
- Proofread documents such as letters of inquiry and reports
What We’re Looking For
âś” Associate degree or equivalent relevant experience
âś” Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
âś” Solid writing and proofreading ability
âś” Comfortable with Microsoft Office (especially Word and Excel)
âś” A collaborative mindset and ability to work with diverse populations
âś” Willingness to learn fundraising and event systems (training provided)
Nice-to-Haves
- Experience with donor or CRM databases (especially Raiser’s Edge)
- Interest in nonprofit development, philanthropy, or higher ed advancement
- Event planning, customer service, or office admin experience
Work Schedule
📅 17 hours per week, scheduled between Monday–Friday, 9am–5pm (some flexibility). Occasional early morning or evening hours may be requested for events.
