Overview: Join a warm and dynamic blended family as a compassionate Special Needs Nanny/Housekeeper. This unique opportunity involves supporting a loving mom with her busy household, particularly focusing on the care of her two daughters (Ages 11 years and 4 years), one of whom has special needs, and their 6-month-old son. Responsibilities:

1. Morning Routine:

   • Assist mom in getting the 11-year-old and 4-year-old ready for school.
   • Care for the 6-month-old while mom takes the older children to school.

2. Daytime Responsibilities:

   • Provide ongoing care for the baby, including feeding, changing, and playtime.
   • Engage in light housekeeping tasks to maintain a clean, tidy, and organized home.
   • Handle family laundry and assist with organizational tasks, as needed.

3. Afternoon and Evening Support:

   • Aid in school pick-up and transportation to therapies or after-school activities.
   • Assist with dinner preparation and mealtime.
   • Support mom and dad with bathing and bedtime routines.
   • Provide special care and meal preparation for the oldest daughter with cerebral palsy, including changing, feeding, and bathing.

4. Family Dynamics:

   • Navigate a blended family schedule, including the 11-year-old spending alternating weeks and weekends with mom.
   • Welcome and assist two stepchildren during scheduled weekends.

5. Flexibility and Calming Presence:

   • Embrace the ever-evolving nature of a blended family and adapt to changes in routine.
   • Bring a calming energy to support mom, especially in caring for their special needs daughter.

Qualifications:

• Experience in special needs care preferred, but not required. More important than experience is the approach and attitude towards someone with special needs.
• A compassionate and patient demeanor.
• Ability to maintain a positive and supportive atmosphere in the household.
• Flexibility in adapting to changing family dynamics and schedules.
• Basic understanding of housekeeping tasks and organizational skills.

Hours:

• Ideally Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

Compensation and Benefits:

• Salary: $30-35/hour, DOE, Negotiable for the right candidate
• Living Accommodations: Live Out
• Vacation: 2 weeks PTO

Children: 5 (As this is a blended family, the baby is the only one living in this home full-time; the other children all split time with their other parent). 
Dogs: 1 - a small Yorkshire Terrier
Current Staff: Housekeeper who handles deep cleaning

Position Responsibilities

• Childcare: 03 Children, Ages 11-year-old (G) with special needs (non-verbal), 4-year-old (G), 6-month-old (B) - 2 Stepchildren every other weekend (Ages 12 years (G) and 5 years (B) who has ASD)
• Housekeeping: Light Housekeeping Required
• Cooking: Help Start/Prep for Dinner, Plain Cooking Required, Children's Meals Only
• Laundry: Family Laundry
• Errands: As Needed
• Driving: Required
• Travel: Not Required

Position Requirements

• Work Hours: M-F, Ideally 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM or a split shift is okay 7:00 AM to 12:30 PM and 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM
• Languages: English
• Experience: 03 Years of Experience
• References: Minimum of 2 References
• Background: Pass stringent background checks and drug testing upon offer of hire
• Personality Traits: Compassionate, nurturing, flexible, kind, has a "go with the flow" personality, and a calming energy.

Position Compensation
