IN-PERSON - HOUSTON, TX.

The Receptionist is the first point of contact for visitors, clients, and guests, offering exceptional service and administrative support to the Convention & Cultural Facilities and Services Department.
- This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast-paced environments, values customer service and hospitality, and enjoys engaging with people at all levels.
- This position will commence with a 90-day temporary period. Upon satisfactory performance, the role will seamlessly transition into a full-time position.
REPORTS TO: Director, Security
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
- This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Answers and professionally directs incoming calls at all times.
- Receives all visitors, works closely with the staff to expedite guest assistance to the proper department, team member,r or conference room.
- Assists the Convention & Cultural Facilities and Services Department with day-to-day administrative and clerical activities.
- Maintains a professional front desk appearance
- Day-to-day operations of the main switchboards; including transferring the phone system to night/holiday greeting and transferring calls into voice mail
- Understands all Houston First Corporation (HFC) departmental operations to direct calls or visitors appropriately
- Retrieves and redirects switchboard voicemail daily
- Validates parking for guests and team members and tracks in Excel
- Manually keeps a record of deliveries made to the front desk and ensures all packages are removed from the front desk within 24 hours of receipt
- Other duties and special projects as required.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two years of secretarial/administrative experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
- Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook environment
- Professional communication both verbal and written
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to interact with the public and international callers and guests
- Maintains a pleasant disposition at all times
