Position Purpose:
The Inside Sales Rep will act as a liaison between Houston's and customers, provide product and services information, answer questions, and work to identify and resolve any emerging problems that our customer accounts might face with accuracy and efficiency.
Functions or Duties:
- Interact with customers by phone and email in order to answer questions about products, pricing, inventory availability, applicable shipping, delivery terms and more
- Provide clear explanations when communicating with internal and external individuals
- Enter customer orders in a timely manner to ensure the earliest possible delivery date and consistently provide follow up to make sure the customer is immediately alerted to changes impacting delivery schedules
- Resolve product or service problems by utilizing a full circle approach to customer service - clarify the customer's complaint; determine the cause of the problem; select and explain the best solution to solve the problem; expedite correction or adjustment; and following up to ensure resolution
- Grow sustainable relationships and trust with customer accounts through open and interactive communication
- Recommend products based on customers' needs and interests; promote awareness of new vendor lines, products, current campaigns or other relevant topics
- Provide quotes for customers by working with internal and external resources
- Manage multiple duties simultaneously while providing exceptional customer service
- Utilize CRM (Customer Relationship Management) tool to keep record of customer interactions and delivery changes, as well as actions taken
- Partner with cross functional department members to gather information and ensure its accuracy

Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability to prioritize own workload and support the team to meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills required to effectively communicate with customers and employees using multiple mediums
- Must possess a professional and friendly attitude and be able to quickly develop a rapport with customers and de-escalate difficult conversations
- Strong mathematical skills
- Work with minimal supervision and effectively prioritize and complete work to meet deadlines
- Strong problem solving skills
- Familiarity using a CRM software program (such as Salesforce.com) desirable
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Attention to detail / high level of accuracy
- High proficiency and accuracy in 10-key
Education and Experience:

- High School Diploma required
- Three years background in Customer Service, Inside Sales, or equivalent experience, required
- Experience in Foodservice Industry preferred
- Experience with Salesforce and AutoQuotes preferred
