Housekeeping - Assisted Living - Full Time

Job Summary

Assist in maintaining a clean physical, social and psychological environment that is conducive to the best interest and welfare of residents.

Accountabilities

• Resident Care
  • Attend to the personal care needs of residents in a timely manner.
  • Regularly review, follow, and adhere to residents’ service plans as it pertains to housekeeping.
  • Report changes in resident status, health or otherwise to supervisor.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of infection control and universal precautions.
• Other Duties/Responsibilities
  • Maintain cleanliness of resident’s room including daily cleaning, deep cleaning as required, and discharge cleaning.
  • Perform day-to-day housekeeping functions as assigned.
  • Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in elder rooms, recreational areas, etc., daily as instructed.
  • Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures. Ensure that water marks are removed from fixtures.
  • Clean windows/mirrors in elder rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways.
  • Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc. (NOTE: Ensure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties.)
  • Clean carpets, to include vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, and disinfecting.
  • Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.
  • Discard waste/trash into proper containers and reline trash receptacle with plastic liner.
  • Clean vacant rooms as assigned.
  • Follow proper techniques when mixing chemicals, disinfectants, and solutions used for cleaning. Refer to manufacturer’s instructions when necessary.
  • Ensure that an adequate supply of housekeeping supplies to perform daily tasks is maintained in utility/janitorial closets. Keep supervisor informed of supply needs.
  • Report burned out light bulbs, exit lights, overhead lights, fluorescent lights, room call lights, etc., to your supervisor as soon as practical.
  • Clean work/supply carts, equipment, etc., as necessary or directed.
• Physical Demands/Working Conditions
  • Able to sit, stand, bend, lift, push, pull, stoop, walk, and move frequently during working hours.
  • Able to lift 40 lbs. floor to waist, lift 10 lbs. waist to shoulder, lift and carry 40 lbs., and push/pull 40 lbs.
  • Able to assist in the evacuation of residents.
• Qualifications and Educational Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • CPR certification which must remain current during employment.
  • First aid certification from a nationally recognized organization.
  • Minimum of one year experience in a senior care or healthcare setting preferred.

Salary : $17 - $20
