What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bus Aide position at Howard County Children's Center?
The bus aide is directly responsible to the bus driver. The bus aide will be
available for any in-service meetings and training the coordinator makes
available.
II. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
A. The aide will ensure that all clients are in designated seats and seat
belts are secure.
B. The aide will help the driver prevent any smoking, dipping, chewing
tobacco, eating or drinking at all times.
C. The aide will assist in any behavior problems that may arise.
D. The aide will assist in emergency evacuation drills in conjunction
with the transportation supervisor quarterly.
E. The aide will in an emergency be able to drive the bus if needed.
F. The aide at the end of each route will check and make sure all
passengers are off the vehicle.
G. The aide will answer the HCCC cell phone during the transportation route.
H. The aide will arrange for a substitute aide in the event she is unable to fulfill her
duties. If unable to secure a replacement she will contact the transportation
supervisor before the scheduled time of departure for the route.
