A variety of fencing classes of varying techniques and skill are offered in the county.
DUTIES:
Instructor I: One year of experience instructing fencing and CPR and First Aid certified.
Instructor II: Two years of experience instructing fencing and CPR and First Aid certified.
Instructor III: 20 hours of instruction under a Moniteur, Prévôt, or Master that is a current USFCA member or Assistant Moniteur (or Aide Moniteur) or Moniteur level of the USFCA Training Certification and CPR and First Aid certified.
Professional: Prévôt or Master (or Maître) level of the USFCA Training Certification and CPR and First Aid certified.
EDUCATION: Possess CPR and First Aid certification. Possess a United States Fencing Coaches Association Certification is preferred.
RATE OF PAY: Contingent - Salary commensurate with experience and certification
Instructor I: Minimum Wage to $17 per hour (Paraprofessional)
Instructor II: $17-$19 per hour (Paraprofessional)
Instructor III: $19-$21 per hour (Professional)
Professional: $21-$32 per hour (Professional)
DUTIES:
- Teach, organize and supervise a fencing class and /or camp consisting of various age groups and abilities.
- Demonstrate proper techniques and safety procedures for the welfare of the program and its participants.
- Oversee use of facilities and keep records of class attendance.
- Supervise staff and volunteers.
- Coordinate lesson plans plan for the duration of the session.
- Complete written reports as needed and attend scheduled meetings when necessary.
- Responsible for supervision of inclusion companion(s) and/or interpreter, completion of evaluation reports, and verification of companion timecards.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Sufficient skill in a specific area
- Ability to develop a teaching plan for a diversified group of people (ages/ability levels)
- Ability to demonstrate effective fencing skills and to communicate directions effectively.
- Knowledge of age and ability adaptations for activities to ensure equal participation and success.
