Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Processing Tech III, Heat Treat (2nd Shift) at our City of Industry, CA location. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. We hold the number one global position in aerospace fastening systems, and we’re the North American leader in commercial transportation fasteners. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment.

Job Duties And Responsibilities
- Must be able to work in a hot environment
- Ability to learn and follow direction specific to Heat Treat processes & procedures
- Able to read & understand applicable manufacturing procedures for Heat Treat
- Able to operate solution shakers
- Able to operate vacuum furnaces
- Able to operate VACUDRAW furnaces
- Able to operate freezer
- Able to read and understand technical product specifications
- Be familiar with operation, adjustment
- Able to monitor furnace and verify instrumentation as directed
- Proficient in cleaning processes
- Knowledge of general heat treat requirements for age titanium, stainless steels and solution treatment of all steels, etc.
- Proficient in verfifying paperwork
- Knowledge of company policies, applicable procedures, and applicable work instructions
- Understands the procedures of loading, timing, heating quenching etc.
- Able to inspect parts to be heat treated for FOD
- Perform Rockwell hardness test (when applicable)
- Able to comprehend and perform preventative maintenance as required
- Able to print process sheets HTPI to process hardware
- Required to learn and perform all of the Processing Clean requirements including operating: Alkaline clean equipment, salt line, united line equipment, passivation line, powder blast, assist in waste water treatment as required
Basic Qualifications
- Highschool or GED preferred
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in an aerospace manufacturing Heat Treat environment
- Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
