JOB SUMMARY
The role of the Financial Analyst will be to support the Plant Controller in the execution of the day-to-day general accounting functions and coordination month end closing process, and daily/weekly monthly financial reporting. Assist in the development of financial plans and forecasts, and the analysis of operational results. Prime day-to-day responsibility will be expense processing; monitor and report inventories, standard cost revisions and the operating budget will be key responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
* Maintain & Administer Site's Fixed Assets and Capital Plan.
* Internal and External reporting requirements.
* Summarize findings and help to develop recommendations.
* Improve upon existing business processes, if necessary.
* Develop various tools to enhance productivity within the department; this could require creating spreadsheets or databases.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Job responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:
* Investigate standard variances.
* Perform manufacturing analysis.
* Assist in calculating and planning cost reduction initiatives.
* Assist and oversee the General Accounting and Cost Accounting functions such as product costing, daily variance analysis, capital management and financial reporting.
* Assist in the preparation of the monthly business review package.
* Review/perform account reconciliations.
* Participate/back-up for daily reporting, daily checkbook and OT review.
* Assist/participate in physical inventories of product inventory and fixed asset inventory.
* Business unit/corporate requests.
* Assist in monthly finance close.
* Support management financial requests for information through detail analysis and reporting.
* Assist controller in forecasting/ budgeting as needed.
* Work in a safe manner that promotes the health and well-being of the individual and the environment.
* Comply with all EHS rules and regulations and supervisory instructions.
* Report all incidents including injuries, spills, fires, property damage, and near misses to their supervisor.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
* A Bachelor's degree, or (5) years related experience in business process modeling or database design. A combination of appropriate education and experience is also acceptable.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Skills and Abilities:
* Good verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to analyze information and make recommendations based on that analysis.
* Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
* Detail oriented.
Experience:
* Experience using Windows-based applications including Word, Excel, and Access. PowerPoint and Project experience IS useful, but not mandatory.
* Experience developing systematic and manual operations procedures.
