JOB VACANCY: LOAN OFFICER TRAINEE

HR Consulting Solutions, LLC is a national executive search firm that has been retained by River Valley AgCredit to conduct a search for a Loan Officer Trainee to work alongside their team in Loudon, Tennessee.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Loan Officer Trainee develops new business and expands existing relationships. The incumbent will call on potential customers, identify credit needs, secure financial data for analysis and make proposals for new business. The Loan Officer Trainee also makes sales calls to achieve Association established goals. The successful candidate will maintain knowledge of Association products and services as well as knowledge of the industries in the market area served. S/He will explain loan options, rates, terms, and collateral requirements to loan prospects. This position maintains effective supervision of loans through sound loan administration to insure Association position. The Loan Officer Trainee will seek a high level of visibility to the target lending market within an assigned territory. The incumbent markets the Association by being a source of referrals for the other lending segments of the Association. The Loan Officer Trainee also promotes financially related services to all current and prospective members.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • None

MINIMUM EDUCATION
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Ag Economics, Agriculture, Finance, or related field
     
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
  • Must be knowledgeable in areas of farm management and agricultural finance

SENSORY AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to read documents from many sources
  • Capable of communicating audibly in and with staff, customers, and the general public

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations, principles, procedures and credit practices in the Farm Credit System and the Association
  • Skilled in making sales calls and proposals for new business
  • Superior knowledge of Association products
  • Excellent skills in judgement, leadership, initiative, and organization
  • Provides referrals to other lending segments
MINIMUM POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complies with Standards of Conduct, Privacy, IT Security, etc.
  • Develops new business and expands existing relationships
  • Calls on potential customers, identifies credit needs, secures financial data for analysis, and makes proposals for new business
  • Places sales calls to achieve individually established goals
  • Maintains knowledge of association products and services as well as knowledge of the industries and market area served
  • Explains loan options, rates, loan fees, terms, and collateral requirements to loan prospects
  • Makes credit decisions on loans under delegated authority
  • Recommends actions beyond delegated authorities
  • Works with Sales Manager to remain within marketing budget
  • Ensures loans are originated and administered in a sound, constructive manner and in accordance with Farm Credit System and Association regulations
  • Makes sure all loan actions are adequately evaluated in terms of eligibility and scope, ability to repay, as well as any other risk factors
  • Ensures the accuracy and source of facts utilized to arrive at the loan decision are appropriately explained and documented
  • Maintains effective supervision of loans to insure Association’s position
  • Monitors customer financial situation, loan performance and repayment process
  • Takes appropriate corrective action as necessary
  • Ensures average pricing for all loans yields the maximum gross profit achievable, taking into consideration the market conditions/characteristics for their respective areas
  • Other duties as assigned by Management
