JOB TITLE: Resident Assistant
DEPARTMENT: Senior Services, aka Elderly
CLASS: Part-time (20 hrs. /wk.)
SALARY: $16.80/hr.

CLOSING DATE: September 11, 2024
SUMMARY OF POSITION:
The resident assistant services under the supervision of the department director. The resident assistant position focuses on enhancing the quality of life in the group home. It requires a flexible individual to assume various roles as dictated by the resident's needs. The individual must also relate well to others and handle administrative responsibilities. The RA is more than just a friendly presence; they are crucial in creating an environment where residents live independently and cooperatively with others.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Enforcing Rules and upholding policies and procedures.
- Building Community by creating a sense of community with planned activities and promoting a fun and supportive environment.
- Serving as a role model by being approachable and receptive and maintaining a clean community profile. Supporting Residents
- Manage crises and respond to emergencies, develop evacuation procedures, and learn how to use fire equipment, i.e., fire extinguishers.
- Working with the department administration as a liaison between the department's administrations. They may need to attend meetings and provide staffing backup for the department.
- Mediating Conflicts by listening to both sides and developing resolutions.
- Maintain a safe environment, assist in supervising residents, and respond to complaints, reports, requests, and emergencies. Document infractions, violations, and safety issues.
- Other duties include maintaining the exterior, landscaping, and public areas, cleaning and ensuring they are stocked and presentable, and cleaning rooms when residents move out or new residents move in.
- Opening and Closing Building
- Participate in mandatory training.
- Communicate with residents and families and notify the administration of any changes, conditions, or concerns.
- Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Possess a valid Driver’s License and be eligible for the Tribe’s insurance.
- Submit to and Pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screening.
- Have an Arizona Finger Print Clearance Card or be able to obtain one within 90 days after the start date.
- Must pass a background investigation.

- Proven organization and logistical skills
- Ability to respond and assess urgent situations
Other:
· Must be able to attend training and travel as required.
· Ability to be on-call to respond to lockouts or maintenance issues.
