What are the responsibilities and job description for the CAD Designer - Detail Design position at Huber Technology Inc?
This is an on-site position at our office in Denver, NC.
- JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of Design Manager, employee is responsible for a variety of design/drafting activities (3D & 2D) including assisting with the creation of and/or updating of detailed drawings & models for manufacturing / assembly as requested. Other duties may be assigned.
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare 3D models, dimensional drawings, and a variety of more complex drawings to support in-house manufacturing & assembly of products.
- Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes, in collaboration with other HUBER locations to ensure consistent documentation of the products / projects.
- Ensure all components are setup correctly and BOM’s are accurate in Windchill (PLM) and IFS (ERP) systems.
- Review and understand blueprints, plans, specifications, and other customer documentation requested as needed by engineers or project managers.
- Become an information source on planning and design of equipment installations: equipment and plant engineering with on-the-job training and experience.
- Work with project teams to execute projects and deliver in a timely manner, which meet and exceed the customer’s requirements.
- Maintain notes, design calculations and other documentation (like drawings, bill of materials, list of design parameters, and /performance guarantees) for future reference as to established procedures by the CAD team.
- Other duties as required relating to CAD database maintenance, PDM, etc.
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
- EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree or completion of a technical trade school in CAD, drafting or related field, plus at least 4-6 years of related work experience: or any equivalent combination of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is a plus.
- Part modeling and detailing experience using 3D parametric software such as Creo, SolidWorks, Inventor, etc.
- Creo/Windchill experience is a plus
- Experience working with skeleton structures, assembly structures, and product design is a plus
- Experience in equipment layout for municipal and/or industrial construction projects
- Experience relating to wastewater treatment facilities is a plus.
- Experience with Windchill Product Data Management (PDM) software
- Manufacturing design experience with sheet metal, fabrication, and welding CAD designs
- Ability and willingness to travel to Germany up to twice per year
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with IFS software or similar experience with ERP software
- 6-8 years of experience
