Position Summary:
Responsible for operations of the banquet department, including managing banquet staff to ensure a successful and effective operation resulting in a positive employee/guest experience.
Essential Functions:
- Review Banquet Event Orders for schedule of daily functions.
- Prepare banquet rooms for assigned functions.
- Prioritize the basic needs of assigned functions.
- Perform both opening and closing procedures.
- Maintain appropriate levels of food and beverage items.
- Maintain good service times.
- Manage the selection, training, supervision, development, discipline and termination of banquet employees.
- Prepare and conduct timely and accurate performance reviews with staff.
- Schedule staff for banquet functions.
- Perform monthly inventory of all banquet equipment.
- Creatively solve unusual customer requests.
- Utilize knowledge of physical capabilities of banquet space.
- Maintain labor costs to meet budget.
- Prepare and present bill to customer for function.
- Know basic bar terminology and wine service.
- Display knowledge of food preparation and service.
- Complete all necessary paperwork as assigned.
- Ensure equipment is in proper working order.
- Ensure that all doors and equipment are locked securely, everything is turned off and keys are returned.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of three years banquet/catering experience.
- Possession of government required licenses or certificates.
- Knowledge and understanding of quality food service techniques and standards.
- Knowledge of beverage cost control guidelines.
- Exceptional guest service skills.
- Ability to:
- Plan, organize and direct activities of employees.
