Controller

CE Rental is searching for an experienced Controller to work out of their Raleigh, NC office. As a Controller you are responsible for accounting and compliance, including financial reporting and analysis, accounts receivable, credit and collections, accounts payable, treasury, and multi-state taxation. This role is critical to the success of the company.

As a Controller you will:

• Act as a partner with the CFO / COO
• Lead and mentor the accounting and financial reporting team, develop talent, establishing a strong culture, and building the team for long-term success.
• Lead, partner and manage the business unit as part of the senior management team, actively participating in the development and execution of the business plan.
• Work across the corporate organization and the remote sites to ensure proper accounting and financial reporting requirements.
• Maintain the financial records of the Company in accordance with US GAAP, provide monthly internal and external financial statements on a timely basis.
• Develop, implement, and ensure internal controls and processes are in place which monitor and protect the assets.
• Be a good steward of the assets of the Company.
• Develop and improve the financial organization.
• Provide timely, accurate reporting and analysis to locations and executives. Prepare reports required by PE Firm, Banks, Vendors, Insurance, and other stakeholders.
• Prepare reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
• Lead the annual budgeting process in partnership with the COO-CFO
• Ensure that the company is responding to all legal issues in a timely and responsible manner while monitoring the potential impact on the company and communicating to management.
• Participate in value initiatives to improve/resolve cost variances.
• Partner with all functions, providing information, guidance, and recommendations on business issues.
• Manage state and federal tax returns using outside CPA firm; responsible for state and local sales and use tax returns; maintain knowledge of tax law changes and advise management on operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.
• Manage financial, tax and other audits.
• Establish and implement short- and long-range departmental goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures.
• Manages subordinates in the Finance and Accounting team.  

In order to be successful in the role you must possess:

• Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in Accounting, Finance or Economics and at least 10 years related experience. Related Controller experience with multistate locations preferred. CPA or CMA preferred.
• Accounting Systems experience, Labor Tracking Systems, Microsoft Office Suite and advanced Excel skills
• Strong business acumen and communication skills
• Experience in managing people

Salary : $125,000 - $145,000
