Survivor Support Specialist
QUALIFICATIONS
1. High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.
2. Understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence and sexual assault, preferred.
3. Experience in crisis intervention, preferred.
4. Ability to relate to people from varied ethnic and economic groups.
5. Must successfully pass agency-required background checks.
WAGE RANGE
$17.00/hour plus agency fringe benefits
Fringe benefits include, but are not limited to, health insurance, life insurance, paid annual and sick leave, and 11 paid holidays per year.
WORK LOCATION
Caro
WORK SCHEDULE
40 hours per week
Must have flexibility to work primarily 2nd and 3rd shifts, as well as some weekends and holidays.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Provide crisis intervention, in person and/or via the Thumb Area Assault Crisis Center’s Crisis and text line to customers requesting assistance.
2. Complete an initial intake and provide the necessary crisis intervention at the time a customer enters the shelter.
3. Coordinate transportation, emergency shelter, and advocacy services with customers.
4. Accurately document all customer contacts in case records and assist with compiling customer and program data, as requested.
