Description
Human Support Services is seeking an in-office, full-time Billing Agent.
This position will...
1. Verify coverage. Requests pre-authorizations, if needed. As needed, process requests for fee adjustments and/or charity care.
2. Posting payments from both patients and third party insurance companies.
3. Provides phone and face-to-face billing support to clients and HSS staff.
4. Complete spenddown information.
5. Pursue continued billing pre authorizations and client billing eligibility.
6. Review daily appointments for outstanding balances and meet face to face with clients carrying large balances. Ask for payment.
8. Assists with month end close process. Mails monthly statements to clients. Assist with billing as needed.
9. Open and close clients in electronic health records and also monitors that bi-annual registrations are completed timely.
10. Assist with general review of accounts receivable, taking lead from the Billing Manager.
12. Assist with cash receipts processing as a shared duty.
13. Working claims with insurance companies.
14. Credentialing
15. Other duties as necessary or related to the successful completion of other stated position duties, or
as mutually agreed.
Requirements
*Requires knowledge, skills, and mental development equal to a high school degree.
*Business or technical school degree in related areas is a plus.
*Billing experience preferred.
*Must be very detail orientated.
* Professional phone skills and tolerance and patience to deal with clients via phone as well as face to face on a daily basis.
*Willing to ask clients for money.
