What are the responsibilities and job description for the Animal Care Specialist position at Humane Society of Missouri?
The Humane Society of Missouri is seeking highly motivated individuals with a passion for helping animals to work at our Headquarters location on Macklind Avenue as an Animal Care Specialist.
This entry-level position provides all animals in the Adoption Center with proper care and attention, including:
- cleaning and sanitizing cages, runs, floors and rooms,
- providing food and water, and
- restraining animals for medical procedures
Position has starting pay of $14/hour and is eligible for the following benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision and Life/Disability, as well as Vacation, Sick and Holiday pay. Must be able to work well in challenging emotional settings. Qualified candidates for this full-time position, which includes weekend hours, must have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 3 months of animal handling experience and excellent internal customer service skills.
