Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries to the general ledger.
- Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other accounts regularly.
- Maintain and update fixed asset schedules and related depreciation.
- Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including accruals and adjustments.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable as needed.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting principles, and regulatory requirements.
- Work closely with internal operations and finance teams to understand and optimize processes
- Develop a deep understanding of margin accounts. Use this knowledge to continuously improve and refine forecasts for Other Product Costs
- Inventory reserve adjustments and analysis including reserve for obsolete inventory, returns, and repairs
- Ad hoc reporting and projects as required
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Proactive problem-solving ability and a team-oriented mindset.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including experience with pivot tables, v-lookups, and formulas.
- Working knowledge of product costing, inventory management, variance analysis
- Experience with Average Cost Inventory Methodology
- Experience with large enterprise ERP and related tools for reporting and analysis.
- Comfortable with team-based work structure; ability to remain flexible to change within the work environment and scope of responsibility.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience:
- 5 years of accounting experience, focused on cost and inventory accounting (preferably in an omnichannel environment)
- 3 years of hands-on experience with NetSuite.
- Prior experience in the consumer packaged goods (CPG) industry is preferred.
