What are the responsibilities and job description for the Certified Medical Assistant Full-time position at Humboldt Park Health?
- Performs direct patient care and clinical flow per guideline or policy.
- Creates and maintains a professional and patient-centered environment that is in accordance with NAH behavioral expectations, mission, and vision.
- Prepares patients for the medical provider examination by preparing the chart, performing vitals and intake and assisting the patient with completion of any instructions or forms.
- Assists with exam or procedures and performs specimen collection / phlebotomy and medication administration duties per guidelines.
- Adheres to test tracking guidelines and communicates results to patients per medical provider instruction.
- Maintains a complete medical record for all patients to include the reason for and clinical care given at time of visit, inclusion of all forms, test results, collaborating provider / facility communication, and communication to and from the patient.
- Performs other administrative office duties as needed, to include patient registration, insurance verification and authorization, referral generation and obtainment, and phone and fax / message management.
- Ensures the privacy and confidentiality of all patient related information and complies with all aspects of HIPPA and privacy standards.
- Maintains department orderliness and cleanliness and complies with infection control and all applicable safety standards.
Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
Certified or Registered Medical Assistant.
CPR certification.
