Position Overview:

The Supply Chain organization at Hunter Douglas is a very exciting group to be a part of right now. The team is working on many mission critical projects to ensure the global growth and continued success of our business. This newly developed role will ensure that new products are introduced and launched effectively and efficiently. The role will also partner closely with cross functional groups on the most important supply chain projects related to footprint changes, product improvements, and overall supply chain strategy. We need your skills to manage multiple projects in tight timelines with complex requirements while identifying risks and additional strategic opportunities. You will have the ability to build this role from the ground up, acting as a key linchpin immediately, interacting with the most senior levels of leadership offering extensive visibility.

What you'll do

  • Represents the Supply Chain on cross functional project teams to manage product introductions, engineering changes, phase outs, plant moves and other projects
  • Links Product Management, Sourcing, Distribution, Logistics, Supply and Demand teams as needed. May involve Customers directly.
  • Understands areas of risk and is the advanced warning signal, providing specific situation and solutions to all levels of management
  • Creates and executes project plans which meet overall company objectives and specific project goals
  • Required to work on sensitive topics, possibly requiring Non-Disclosure Agreements
  • Challenges the project and team members on timing, impact and goal achievement
  • Determines the logistic, distribution and operational consequences of proposed plan changes and related actions on project or program level
  • Manages the workflow, execution and timeliness of New Product Buyer(s) to meet project needs
  • Needs to be comfortable representing real constraints in the face of pressure, while understanding constraints which can be creatively worked around

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s Degree in supply chain management, engineering, operations research, or related experience equivalent
  • 5 years of various Supply Chain and/or Operations experience. Preferably across several departments as to understand the various requirements of a multi phased Project.
  • Ability to travel as needed to understand supply chain processes (including manufacturing) through first-hand observation, 10-20%
  • Adaptability – Ability to perform a variety of tasks and being able to change assignment or direction on short notice.
  • Communication – Must be able to express himself or herself clearly and effectively when talking across the organization and to all levels of management. May also need to communicate directly with customers.
  • Decision Making and Problem Solving – Identifies problems, gathers data, develops and assesses alternative courses of action, and makes timely decisions based on logical assumptions using all available information.
  • Initiative and Motivation – Actively tries to influence events to achieve department, plant, division and Company objectives and goals. Self-starter who works well without close supervision and takes personal satisfaction in superior job performance.
  • Organization – Can establish priorities and course of action for managing multiple tasks in time critical situations under pressure.
  • Resilience – Maintains effectiveness and a positive attitude in the face of setbacks, time demands, priority changes or rejection.
  • Cooperation – Works well with others, takes time to help internal suppliers and co-workers achieve their objectives and goals.
  • Software Competency – Must be fluent in standard Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Excel and Word. SAP experience not required but strongly preferred. Google Suite proficiency required.
