HII is looking for a Project Manager with Systems Engineering experience to provide expertise for the new Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) Digital Capabilities Directorate (IZ/ID). The project manager oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives. Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients

Work is a hybrid environment with most of the work conducted at Wright Patterson Air Force Base (WPAFB) in Dayton, Ohio. This position supports a hybrid work environment but may require on-site support at WPAFB at least 3 days per week.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Solicit, understand, and document the client's operational & business requirements, processes, and workflows
  • Experience developing schedules and financial Implementation Plans along with form flow through out USAF financial management and contract organizations
  • Demonstrated communication skills (written & oral) to effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders (financial & business)
  • Provide capabilities assessment and requirements validation
  • Conduct gap analysis between current solution and customer requirements
  • Ability to plan and organize in a complex, fast-paced environments
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated, team player, positive attitude and enthusiastic
  • Experience working with USAF or other DoD agencies is desired
  • Experience working within government finance and contracts.
  • Fluent in all MS Office applications.

Preferred Requirements

  • Prior knowledge of MIPR (Military Interdepartmental Purchase Request) process along with acquisition planning, scheduling, and reporting
  • Prior experience managing technical contracts and prior technical skills is a huge plus
  • Prior experience with cloud and other technology related projects preferred
  • Experience with MS Visio preferred
  • Experience with Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, etc.) preferred

Minimum Qualifications

  • 8 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field.
  • Security Clearance - A National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) or the ability to obtain one, is required. All candidates must be a U.S. Citizen.
