What are the responsibilities and job description for the Dir Communication and Media Relations position at Huntsville Hospital Health System?
- Minimum 5-7 years of progressive communications experience, with at least 3 years in healthcare or complex organizational environments
- Demonstrated expertise in media relations with proven track record or securing positive media coverage
- Crisis communication experience, including managing high-stakes situations and sensitive organizational issues
- Experience developing and executing strategic communication plans for large organizations
- Proven success managing executive communication for C-suites leaders
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with ability to craft compelling narratives for diverse audiences
- Strong media relations skills. Established relationships with regional and state media preferred
- Strategic thinking with ability to anticipate issues and develop proactive communication approaches
- Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential and sensitive information
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environment
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to build relationships across all organizational levels
- Proficiency with media monitoring tools, communication platforms, and digital communication channels
- Understanding of healthcare industry dynamics, regulatory environment, and sensitivity to HIPAA requirements
