What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compliance Specialist Hospital position at Huntsville Hospital System?
Overview
Under the direction of the Director of Compliance for the System, this position will assist the Director of Compliance with duties as assigned including, but not limited to integrating all System hospitals and affiliated entities into HH Health System’s Compliance Program.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor’s degree required
Education preferred: Graduate degree in Business, Accounting, Law, Nursing or allied healthcare profession strongly preferred
License, certifcation and/or registration: Certification in healthcare compliance preferred
Experience: At least 3 years of healthcare management experience required. Knowledge and/or experience with healthcare-specific compliance topics such as Anti-Kickback Statute, Stark Law, Exclusion Statue, False Claims Act, HIPAA, EMTALA, etc.
Additional Skills/Abilities:
- Must possess personal computer proficiency, a commitment to high quality customer service and the ability to participate in multiple projects and priorities
- Must have the highest degree of integrity and professionalism and possess interpersonal skills necessary to develop and foster effective relationships with all levels of management
- Must be strong in analytics and must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Zoom is required
- Must have the ability to work independently, prioritize tasks and handle multiple deadlines and projects
- Must have superior attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, and take personal pride in and ownership of all Compliance Department work product
- Must be creative and resourceful in finding solutions to problems, while exercising sound judgment
- Critical thinking and organizational skills also necessary
- Excellent analytical skills and ability to clearly communicate complex analyses, conclusions and recommendations
