Status: 40 hours per two week pay period
Shift: 8 Hours

Statement of Purpose:
Coordinates ongoing identification, development, monitoring and maintenance of HRMC’s Patient Services education. Serves as a resource person, mentor and coach to, patients, families, staff members and the community. Works with patient services directors/coordinators and staff to identify additional training/resources. Coordinates and tracks the orientation of nursing staff. Assists Directors with Division wide nursing staffing schedule and long sheets. Manages the HealthStream software product for all nursing division reports, education, test and competencies. Coordinates and maintains nursing division evidenced based practice council and all QI reports.

Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in nursing required.
- Licensed and currently registered as a professional nurse in the state of South Dakota.
- Minimum of two years of staff nursing. Experience in nursing education desired.
- Certified BLS instructor or willing to pursue.
- Certified Diabetic Educator preferred or willing to pursue.
- Constantly requires a high degree of social sensitivity and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, groups of patients, and health care personnel within and outside the agency. Proceeds on own initiative, exercises independent judgement. Demonstrates leadership abilities; possesses good oral and written communication skills.
Working Conditions:
- Requires frequent walking, standing, sitting, bending, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing and moderate (exerting/lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, or up to 10 pounds constantly) lifting of clients and equipment.
- Risks exposure to communicable or infectious disease.
- Subject to inside environmental conditions (protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change) and to atmospheric conditions (one or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system or the skin: fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases or poor ventilation).
- Failure to comply with standards of nursing care of HRMC may result in consequences to continued employment.
