Electrician - Instructor

Position Summary:  Faculty plan, prepare and deliver quality instruction to students by utilizing approved course curriculum and instructional methods that accommodate multiple learning styles.  

Position Responsibilities:

• Facilitate organized, engaging classes based on course objectives and course curriculum
• Assess student learning using appropriate methods
• Monitor and evaluate student progress; provide feedback and advising to students regarding progress

• Effectively resolves student concerns or complaints
• Participate in new student orientation, graduation and other campus events, as appropriate
• Participate in professional development activities to maintain currency in the field and with instructional and educational practices and methods
• Other duties as required

Experience:

• Minimum of four years’ work experience as an electrician 
• Prior teaching or training experience preferred, but we will train you to teach if you have not done so before

Physical and Mental Requirements:

Physical Requirements:  This job requires normal physical mobility, including the ability to sit and stand for extended periods of time, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.  Normal hand-eye coordination; arm, hand and finger dexterity, including the ability to grasp and lift up to 40 pounds, is also required.

Mental Requirements:  This job requires the ability to read, recall, write and understand information.  This job also requires the ability to work under moderate pressure and to manage multiple tasks concurrently.

Environment:  This job is normally performed in a clean, well-lighted, heated and cooled office area/classroom
