What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Director of Admissions (ADM2823) position at Hutchinson Community College?
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Essential:
- Assist the Director of Admissions in supervision and leadership of the Admissions team.
- Assist Director in planning of recruitment activities including but not limited to High School visits, College Planning Conferences, and on and off campus recruitment activities.
- Participate in recruitment activities including but not limited to High School visits, College Planning Conferences, and on and off campus recruitment activities (some overnight travel required).
- Plan and participate in the recruitment of prospective students in the Wichita Area.
- Supervise and assist in the activities of the student ambassador program including but not limited to day-to-day office activities and multiple monthly phone-a-thons.
- Coordinate, track, and maintain effective communication with prospective students in the CRM.
- Fill in for the Director of Admissions at college meetings when the Director is not available.
- Assist with planning, organization, implementation, and evaluation of Admissions programming.
- Serve as the Admissions liaison to the athletic department for recruitment activities.
- Arrive on time for work, attend work regularly, and successfully complete the responsibilities of the position.
- Comply with HutchCC policies, procedures, and practices.
Secondary:
- Assist with covering the office including but not limited to covering front office for daily walk-in traffic and answering Admissions telephones.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Admissions.
- Serve actively on campus committees.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree required.
- Experience providing career and academic counseling preferred.
- Experience or training in testing and measurements preferred.
- The ability to demonstrate interpersonal communication skills and public speaking ability.
- The ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff.
- Demonstrated management/team building skills preferred.

SALARY and STATUS:
The salary is commensurate with qualifications as determined by HutchCC administration. This full-time administrative staff position is 12 months annual, benefit eligible, at-will, and exempt.
