Hyperallergic is seeking a full-time Staff Reporter to join our growing team in Brooklyn, NY. The Staff Reporter will be expected to:
- Proactively pitch news and analysis daily, sourcing stories from online sources and their personal network
- Conduct research and write two articles daily on a tight deadline
- Attend and report on off-site events, including protests and other actions
- Report on a diverse range of topics, including arts activism, international current events, archaeological discoveries, and more
- Help cultivate Hyperallergic's audience on social media and beyond
Requirements
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in art journalism, ideally with a focus on the visual arts
- Exceptional writing and copy-editing skills
- Ethical judgment
- The ability to work collaboratively on a team, with generosity and a sense of humor
- Familiarity or engagement with the local art community
- An understanding of Hyperallergic's mission and values
