Skilled Operator - 2nd Shift

If the role interests you and you would like to be considered we encourage you to apply! The hourly rate for this position at Scotts/Hawthorne will generally fall between $23.90 - 31.05 per hour. Scotts/Hawthorne will consider various factors in determining the actual pay including your skills, qualifications, experience, and geographical location. We are looking for a Skilled Operator to join our team in Orrville, OH. Key Aspects: Must be capable of operating heavy equipment (loader, dozer, grinder) to produce our finished product, run a bagging line, and be proficient at operating a forklift Will serve as maintenance support or a backup to the foreman, on an as needed basis Daily assignments will change based on staffing and production needs of the plant Prior manufacturing experience required in either a supervisor role or with operating heavy equipment, forklifts, and bagging lines. What you’ll do in this role: Setup, operate, and maintain packaging equipment and heavy machinery Operate a forklift to transport material and finished goods; load and unload trucks Solve daily operations problems with limited supervision Actively maintain good housekeeping standards in their assigned area Complete daily job checklists & equipment checks/calibrations to maintain quality Complete safety and environmental inspections as assigned Maintain accurate records of raw materials, samples & equipment operations Train new associates on packaging lines and heavy equipment operation All other duties as assigned What you’ll need to be successful: High School diploma or equivalent A minimum of three plus years of production plant experience is preferred Ability to troubleshoot and repair moderate machine breakdowns Ability to work in a dusty environment, hot/cold/ rainy weather, lift 50 pounds, and be able to climb ladders and work on their feet for the entire day Willingness to work mandatory overtime including weekends and holidays What we do for you (just to name a few cool ones): Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, holidays, vacation and sick time benefits available within a month of your start date Healthcare navigation, advocacy and support 401(k) company match up to 7.5% with immediate participation and vesting Ability to purchase company stock at a 15% discounted price from market value $600 annual wellness reimbursement program Up to $30,000 to help cover the cost of fertility treatments, adoption or surrogacy Up to 18 weeks of time away to support your growing family To view all of our great benefits, click here! * Eligibility for the above benefits may vary based on full-time/part-time status or additional factors.
