The Robot Tech is primarily responsible for programing, operating, setting-up, training and repairing of welding and mechanical robots throughout the facility.

ESSENTIAL ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform all duties in a safe and efficient manner adhering to company safety policies.
- Programs, troubleshoots, modifies and operates robotic cells as required.
- Provides training to Machine Operators on cell operation requirements.
- Operate production robot cells.
- Fulfills quality and productivity requirements on a cell basis.
- Properly position and secure work pieces on machines, and start feeding mechanisms.
- Visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
- Remove finished products from machinery monitor their operation to ensure a quality process.
- Inspect parts for proper dimensions and visual defects while product line is running and identify the cause of errors and other defects.
- Troubleshoot robotic systems and make minor adjustments and repairs as needed.
- Perform preventive or corrective maintenance on robotic systems or components.
- Maintain service records of robotic equipment or automated production systems.
- Install, write, adjust and correct robotic program to maximize efficiency, safety, and quality.
- Conduct routine maintenance on robots.
- Work with production manager, buyer and material specialist to insure appropriate indirect supplies are ordered to maintain production
- Meet production standards, quotas, pace and schedule while maintaining high quality.
- Maintain a clean work environment in accordance with company procedures.
- Communicate any problems with machinery or tooling to supervisor and collaboratively resolve issues and suggest improvements.
- Use of hand tools when necessary such as hammer, mallet, and specific air tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Six months to one year MIG welding experience.
- Product specific training with ABB, Motoman, and / or Fanuc robots.
- Experience in manufacturing and automotive field preferred.
