HYG is looking for an energetic individual who will have a positive influence on the Quality Assurance team. As a Measurement/Layout Specialist , you will have the opportunity to develop, edit and execute Coordinate Measuring Programs. This position is also responsible for reviewing and interpreting drawing specifications utilizing various inspection techniques and technical equipment within the department to verify specific dimensions of components. The Specialist will be responsible for making judgments on inspection findings and providing technical recommendations to operators, engineers, and leadership. Other responsibilities include maintaining adequate layout timing, maintenance for lab equipment, and training general inspectors on Coordinate Measuring Machine (“CMM”) /Metrology. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

Key accountabilities include:

• Utilize CAD and Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) related software programs (preferred: Pro E, SiemensNX and CMM Manager DCC software)
• Confirm incoming critical supplier components meet print specification requirements by utilizing various inspection methods.
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to develop and improve processes capability as well as validate equipment.
• Collaborate with Design Engineering to validate new/revised products in production.
• This position has a significant impact on the overall performance of this facility from a Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Moral, and Environment (SQDCME) aspect. This individual must be prepared to make decisions and recommendations daily which impact the plants overall performance. This position will have significant impact in risk mitigation associated with preventing potential non-conformances associated with critical supplied components.

Minimum qualifications:

• Associates Degree in Engineering preferred or more than 1-3 years equivalent experience in a similar CMM layout/inspection role.
• 1-3 years experience with CMM programming and performing layout/inspections
• Develop and edit CMM programs
• Minimum five years manufacturing and product knowledge
• Ability to interpret CAD models and GD&T
• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP and statistical software
