Duties
- Supervise daily service department operations, ensuring smooth workflow and timely vehicle turnaround
- Lead, motivate, and develop a team of technicians and service advisors to achieve performance goals
- Oversee vehicle diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance including oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, suspension work, tire services, alignments, shocks & struts, air brake systems, diesel engine repairs, and auto body repairs
- Implement effective upselling strategies to maximize revenue while providing honest recommendations to customers
- Manage service writing and auto estimating processes to accurately document repairs and communicate with customers
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and maintain a clean, organized work environment
- Handle cash transactions accurately and oversee parts inventory management
Qualifications
- Proven dealership experience with strong knowledge of automotive service management practices
- Extensive mechanic experience with expertise in automotive diagnostics and repair procedures
- Familiarity with a wide range of automotive systems including transmissions, oil changes, brakes, suspensions, alignments, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repair
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
- Strong sales acumen with experience in auto estimating and upselling techniques
- Ability to lead a team effectively while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Mechanical knowledge complemented by hands-on experience as a service technician or mechanic is highly desirable
