What are the responsibilities and job description for the Property Subrogation Specialist position at IAT Insurance Group?
The Claims Business Unit within IAT Insurance Group has an immediate opening for Subrogation Specialists that can be located in any of the following locations:
- FL Sarasota
- GA Alpharetta
- IL Naperville
- IL Rolling Meadows
- NC Raleigh
- NE Omaha
This role works a hybrid schedule out of one of the above listed IAT offices. The hybrid schedule reflects our values (thinking and acting like an owner, collaboration, and teamwork) as it requires working from the office with colleagues and other disciplines Monday through Wednesday, with the option of working Thursday and Friday remotely.
The Subrogation Specialist is responsible for pursuing contribution, credit to loss and subrogation claims for various departments throughout the organization, including specialty, general liability, auto, homeowners, commercial transportation, commercial property, workers compensation, and cargo.
- Handle subrogation claims according to regulatory and statutory requirements.
- Prepare and submit demands to appropriate parties.
- Communicate with internal and external partners regarding status of subrogation.
- Evaluate recovery potential and take appropriate action in support of recovery strategy.
- Monitor and allocate subrogation proceeds accordingly.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Bachelors’ degree or equivalent and 5 years of related experience
- Equivalent is defined as 9 years of professional experience.
- Property experience.
- Strong skills in Microsoft Office, including Word & Excel.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to organize, multi-task and prioritize work.
- Excellent logical reasoning and divergent thinking skills.
- Ability to analyze data, utilize sound judgment to draw conclusions and make supported decisions.
- Be authorized to work in the United States and must not require VISA sponsorship, now, or in the future.
- Insurance, collections, financial, customer service or hospitality experience.
- Knowledge of auto, general liability, products liability and workers compensation insurance.
- Experience working for a Property & Casualty carrier handling subrogation claims.
- Experience working for a Property & Casualty carrier handling cases with Arbitration Forums.
